Mikey Dread Passed Away

Over the weekend Michael Campbell aka “Mikey Dread” a popular radio personality and reggae artist passed away in Connecticut March 15, 2008.  Most are familiar with his popular radio program “Dread at the Control” on the Jamaica Broadcast Corporation (JBC), which aired late night bringing reggae/danchall to a station that mostly played pop music in the 1970’s. He then went on to record several albums including, Dread at the Controls, Africa Anthem and World War III.  Throughout his life he continued to tour, create music and host radio and television programs.
