Malalaika is a contributing writer for Triple the Focus penning articles with exclusive interviews with Wayne Wonder, Asafa Powell, Mojo Morgan and many more. In addition to being a fellow blogger (check out her entertainment lifestyle site The Malaika) she’s also an established PR professional with a robust list of clients. Although she has no favorite social media sites, follow her on Twitter, her commentary on pretty much everything is interesting and entertaining!

Favorite Social Media Sites: NONE!

Favorite websites to search? BoredPanda.com, HuffingtonPost and Wikipedia.

How has the web change how you do your job? Definitely, besides reaching a broader audience and different cultures, it has made me approach tasks differently.

How do you think the web has affected how people view Caribbean Culture? It has affected it both positively and negatively. The best thing about the web is that mostly everyone has access to it, the worse thing about the web is that mostly everyone has access to it. Negative portrayal of anything always receives more attention, therefore the negative side of Caribbean Culture gets highlighted and other countries assume that is the norm. For example, I’ve seen comments on sites such as WorldStarHipHop where viewers of uploaded “dancehall” parties will assume that certain behaviors are the norm.

What Makes you a Caribbean Digital Diva? I wouldn’t call myself a Caribbean Diva. Many people assume that I am from the Caribbean, although my love affair with Reggae goes back to my toddler years, It is after college that my journey started, from internship on a Caribbean radio station to the present. I put in manyyyyy years from news reporter to broadcaster, covering countless events on my feet for 12 hours at a time, stage direction, media coordinator and publicists, grew a previous website from scratch to the top, and had to start over when my partnership broke, so let me rethink this, actually I am an honorary Caribbean Digital Diva after all.

Female who inspires you? I know this will sound cliché but my daughters, mother and grandmother are my inspirations. My grandmother survived the genocide in Rwanda and remained poised, classy and elegant, strong and intelligent, witty and fair, but most of all compassionate.

3 favorite female artistes: Oh Gosh, only 3? Maya Angelou, Jill Scott and Miriam Makeba.
