Rihanna debuted her fashion line for River Island during London Fashion Week. Although the critics haven’t been raving about the collection, and I have to say I agree. I really expected more than the “risque plain jane” pieces; the line seems so basic in comparison to her bubbly personality. It’s definitely a line that can only be worn by a certain slim body type. She has been wearing a lot of simple pieces lately, maybe to support the collection’s inspiration. It seems she served as the brand’s muse for this collection as she didn’t actually design the collection herself, but it’s nothing that we haven’t seen before.
I wasn’t too familiar with River Island, but the London based retailer seems pretty popular (seems like a cross between Zara and H&M, if you are unfamiliar with them as well.) The spring collection will be available March 5 and the summer collection release date will be announced in the future.
