Miller Publishing “Becoming an Author” Ticket Giveaway

 Miller Publishing has partnered with Style & Vibes to give one of our readers a ticket to Miller Publishing’s “Becoming a Author” Seminar on September 10! This contest is open to residents of Jamaica, W.I. only. Transportation will not be provided. Entries must be completed by Sept 5, 2011 at 11:59 PM. The winner will be announced on Sept. 6, 2011.

About the Workshop:

Miller Publishing invites you to a very special seminar dubbed ‘Becoming an Author’. This is the first installment in a series of initiatives hosted by The Miller School, a subsidiary of Miller Publishing, LLC. The session will include the following presentations:

•The Book Climate in Jamaica & the Diaspora

•Writing in a Social Context: Transcending One’s Own Experiences

•A Writer’s Inspiration & Experience

•The Importance of Image: Project Publicity.

A comprehensive overview of issues all authors need to address. We will also showcase the Miller Publishing brand and offerings.

Presenters include Kellie Magnus, Vice Chairman of the BIAJ, Yolanda Paul, Social Marketing and Communication Specialist at the University of the West Indies, Mona, and Damian J. Shaw, Public Relations Specialist with the Bank of Jamaica. We will also have an experienced published author to discuss issues from an author’s perspective.

Style & Vibes author, Mikelah will make every effort to ensure ticket is delivered to winner(s). However the author is not responsible for giveaway prizes that are lost in transit or damaged. The event is slated to take place on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica Auditorium starting at 1:30pm.
