Vibes: Culture

In conjunction with Judson Dance Theater: The Work Is Never Done, join us for Music Video Night, with choreographer Tanisha Scott, Gregg Kaysen of Mass Appeal, and Thomas Lax, associate curator in MoMA’s Department of Media and Performance Art. Through a mix of video screenings and conversation, the event will explore connections between contemporary music videos, the choreographic work of Tanisha Scott, and themes from Judson Dance Theater. Vibes: Cooler Day Party

Di Original Cooler Party is the only event produced island-wide in Jamaica with branches in both Florida, Atlanta and New York. The IGLOO movement and fan base has become so large that preparations are now being made to expand to the Diaspora and more into North America, making it one of the most recognized events out of Jamaica with a global appeal second to none (More info. & Tickets)

Vibes: Cultural

Continuing the conversation between Afro Latin Jazz and genres of music drawn from the musical roots of Africa, now comes the Afrobeat style pioneered by the great Fela Kuti. Multi-Grammy Winners Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra host guest artists Wunmi, Sahr Ngaujah, Tosin Aribisala, Bryan Vargas, and DJ Ausar, who have continued Fela’s musical legacy. (More info. & Tickets)
