Popcaan’s Unruly Fest a Success

Popcaan’s first staging of his Unruly Fest: Popcaan & Friends Concert was well received by fans and entertainers alike. The festival was held in Popcaan’s home parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica on Dec. 22, 2018 and he brought a number of friends to perform with him including Drake, Tory Lanez, Bounty Killer, Agent Sasco Tanya Stephens and more. Fans and artists praised the concert’s line-up, professional staffing and enjoyed all the performances by the artists. Making the probability for Unruly Fest to be an annual event during the popular holiday season in Jamaica.

Following up to Popcaan’s well-received album Forever, an amazing sold-out performance at U.K.’s Wembley Stadium, Unruly Fest is just another extension to the Popcaan’s list of cultural contributions to Jamaica and Dancehall music. The event was non-stop excitement as Popcaan ended the show with an explosive performance with Drake where Drake announced the Popcaan would officially be signed to his Canadian label OVO Music in 2019. Popcaan and Drake already have a great history together as they have collaborated on music Controlla, My Chargie and is rumored to have had some influence on Drake’s usage of Dancehall slang in his music. We’ll see with the future brings for the Dancehall star and OVO team.
