Reggae Month is an annual celebration of reggae music which takes place during February. Organized by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) since 2009. Although established in Jamaica, Reggae Month is celebrated around the globe with events such as concerts, roundtable discussions and workshops that pay homage to Reggae’s history and how the Reggae industry progresses over time. No matter how long you have been a fan of Reggae there’s always more to learn and take in!

 

Explore Reggae’s History

 

Reggae has a deep historical background. There are so many artists that pave the way for reggae outside of the most recognized figures, Bob Marley. Get to know the stories behind the legacy of artists and groups like Black Uhuru, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown.

 

Visit Jamaica

 

Even if you can’t go during Reggae Month, plan a trip to Jamaica. Make is a point to visit historical music sites like the Bob Marley Museum or the Peter Tosh Museum.

 

Listen & share new music by reggae artist

 

Keep your ears fresh to new artist in reggae music. Newer reggae artists like Chronixx, Jah 9, Proteje, Keznamdi. Regular live events like Dubwise Jamaica are always great to discover new artists as well.

The best way to continue to support the genre is to BUY music. This is simple and easy!

There’s nothing like hearing a live Reggae band or artist. Growing up, concerts, stage shows and festivals were a way of exploring new music and getting up close and personal with the artist. It gives you a chance to really hear their unique sound and vocal ability.
