Preparing for The Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise #WTJRC

Preparing for Cruise_Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise

I’m excited to be getting ready for my first cruise! I’ll be boarding the Norwegian Pearl for the second leg of the Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise. The cruise is filled with performances from top reggae and dancehall artists and DJs. The first cruise is currently at sea.ย  I’m on the second cruise which will be stopping in Falmouth and Ocho Rios. I’m looking forward to reggae and sunshine!

I have to admit, although I’ve traveled frequently this feels a little new. I’ve been researching to figure out what to expect, without having too many expectations. I haven’t really loved the idea of cruises, the restriction and being at sea for days turned me off, but when the Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise came out the first time I told all my friends about it and no one wanted to jump on it. This time I jumped on it for just my boo and I. This will be our first solo getaway without the little one, we usually take her everywhere!

I always make a checklist of things I need to do before taking a trip and it goes a little something like this:

Passport Check: Make sure my passport doesn’t expires soon. (I actually did this earlier, but always do another check right before I leave.)

Cruise rules: Knowing what time to arrive at the dock, check in what we can bring and not bring.

Clothes: This is probably the easiest! I’m trying not to over pack, but we’ll see how that goes. Swimsuits, shorts, dresses, tanks, cover-ups and sandals.

Beauty: I always travel with hair samples I get from my Cocotique box. It’s great because I get to try new products and don’t have to worry about traveling with bug size bottles or putting shampoo into a travel size bottle.

Accessories: Sunnies and earrings are the only things I’m bringing…maybe one necklace. Every time I bring a lot of jewelry, I never wear most of it, so I’m packing extra light on this front.

Electronics: iPhone 5, Nikon J1 & iPad 2 are the only electronics that I’m bringing. I’m definitely going to need to remember the chargers!

Now that I’ve made my list, I’m checking it twice. Follow the Style & Vibes Instagram account for my inside scoop on the Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise. I’ll be blogging about my experience, so stay tuned!
