Simply Stylist New York took place over the weekend (thanks to fellow BLMGirl Leah for sharing info on the event a few months ago). I took stylist and a fellow CT based blogger Ves of Ves Canvas with me It was my first time attending the event mixed with stylist, bloggers and brands learning from current industry innovators and entrepreneurs. There was a full conference, but I just attended the mixer and breakout sessions, which was still pretty insightful with reminders of all the great things I should be doing with my blog (brand). The sessions made me really think about focusing on my vision as a niche blogger, specifically in the last breakout session with Beca Alexander and Danial Saynt. It helped me look the perspective of becoming a brand with specific goals. Instead of sharing my vision, I’ve decided that I just want to show and prove in the next few weeks.
I also got a chance to discover some great new brands including Keep (a universal shopping site and app that allow you to purchase from multiple brands in one application) and Rack It Up (a bookmark tool that allows you to build a closet of items on the web and they alert you when those items go on sale); I think I’ll become addicted to both!
