Arlene Martin is the brilliant designer behind the line drennaLuna (a women’s clothing line based in Jamaica) , she’s also the fashion director for Triple the Focus. Each month she features a new themed collection like swimwear, bridal gowns, fall fashion, jackets and more. Read how the web has helped her as a designer, her favorite sites and who inspires her.

Website: drennaLUNA.com

Favorite Social Media sites: Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook

Favorite websites to search: Style.com & Businessoffashion.com

How has the web changed how you do your job? Wow. IT has done so so significantly. IT was not so much of a change but opening many opportunities for research and promotions.  In terms of research you can always get the latest information very quickly and across a range of topics which support business and product development.  And there are creative ways to promote – rather than spend on advertising.  There are great cost-cutting tools too like CRM systems and the latest tool discovery I really like – Glossi.  And of course, without it, I would not be a Triple The Focus contributor.

How do you think the web has affected how people view Caribbean Culture? It has helped removed some stereotypes and debunk some myths – very important.  And it has allowed the Caribbean Culture to be viewed as it is – diverse, rich, advancing – though still deeply routed in our heritage.

What Makes you a Caribbean Digital Diva? I am of course very Caribbean, and am becoming increasingly sophisticated in my use of digital tools.  I am already exploiting a few of these and so I guess I am a digital diva.

Female who inspires you? Drenna Louise Messado, my maternal grandmother, who inspires to be a good person.  There are other examples in areas of creativity, leadership, achievement, but the greatest person I can be is my best self, and she taught me that.

3 favorite female artistes: So hard…  In terms of Caribbean music, I like Tanya Stephens – lyrics are always great.  Others are from the design field – I like Donna Karan’s style and I admire Meiling’s talent and achievements.
