Rihanna may be GQ’s sexiest woman alive, but a bishop from her home island of Barbados thinks she’s unfit to be the country’s ambassador.Rihanna has always worn her Bajan heritage with honor.  Earlier this year the pop star was named ambassador to the island by the Barbabos Tourism Authority. Filming a behind the scenes documentary for the tourist board, participating in the Kadooment Day and performing the last leg of her LOUD tour to kick off her endorsement on the island during Crop Over season.

Rihanna has recently been pushing a lot of buttons from upsetting farmer in Northern Ireland while filming “We Found Love” to her outrageous (and entertaining) twitter-spasms with followers and her sexual innuendos in music and in-person interviews. In recent interviews, she has expressed her frustrations of living her life as a young person and not wanting to be a role model.

Bajan church leader Bishop Dr Marlon Husbands has accused  Rihanna of “always doing foolishness”, and called her unworthy of being an ambassador. (Source)

In the eyes of many the pop starlet has become, well, the Good Girl Gone Bad. While she may not like the “role model” title as much as her “rock star” status, it kind of comes with the territory. Young people, especially from the islands, see her as an inspiration and are watching her every move. Some of her fans are too young to understand the difference between real life and entertainment persona, wanting to imitate her every move. But as a 20-something year old living her life out in the public eye, should she be scrutinized for doing what anyone her age might do? I mean don’t we all have crazy wild stories as young people? Is she really tarnishing what international travelers think about Barbados? Sound off!

Mary J. Blige & Drake perform “Wrong Man” the new single from her latest album My Life II.

Marc Anthony & Pitbull perform “Rain Over Me” Pitbull also performed Marc’s soon to be ex-wife Jennifer Lopez. Talk about Latin  three-some powerhouse! Although Jennifer’s performance was more like a theater production with an obvious plug for Fiat. (Side note: Does she even drive around in that Fiat?)

Stylist June Ambrose is bound to become a household name after her reality show airs early in 2012. We all know her for styling the likes Jay-Z and Kanye West, but I had no idea she started out styling for Hip-Hop trio TLC. In a recent interview with Avenue Magazine she touched on her upbringing and how she jumped from investment banker to style maven to the stars.

The philosopy behind Ambrose’s business stems from all the elements of her history. From her brief childhood in Antigua, watching her mother craft “carnival queen dresses,” to her days commuting from the Bronx to her performing arts school, Talent Unlimited High School – every step was in the direction of success. Estelle covers the latest issue of Pynk Magazine. Fresh after performing “Thank You” on Black Girls Rock, she look gorgeous on the cover of the winter issue. The Hip-Hop songstress talks career, love and life.

On refocusing her life and career:

“I got back on the same page with my head and my heart. I just didn’t enjoy the music anymore so I turned everything around and started really paying attention to myself instead of listening to what everyone else was telling me [the album] should be. It just got real ridiculous for a while.”

On pushing past the pain:

“Every time I’d go in and record something that was really emotionally charged after one of these changing moments — those are the records that everybody loved. So I was like, ‘You might want to keep doing that. It’s going to hurt you but just keep going.’ And I did. And it hurt like hell. And a lot of people were probably hurt in the process, but oh well. They probably needed to go anyway. These were things that went with the process of me having to change my life around for the better. I definitely went through it.”

On her love life:

“I’m dating. I’m having fun. I don’t think I want to be in a relationship just yet. I’m enjoying my absolute freedom and having fun looking at the boys. There are some good ones out there. I like cute ones — black, white, whatever — with kind eyes and a kind spirit. I like men who are about something, who have a whole career to themselves. Guys who don’t really have too many issues – or at least deal with their issues. Not the ones who drift around looking for someone to take care of them… I’ve had a couple of those and they’re not fun. ”

Versace’s collaboration with H&M has been one of the most anticipated designer collaborations of the year. In honor of the collaboration H&M & Versace hosted a fashion show and pop up shop last week in New York City. They enlisted Nicki Minaj and Prince to perform at the show. Nicki hit the red carpet with Donatella before the show got started.

Here as a few of my favorites from the collection: [click to continue…]
