Usher feat. Nicki Minaj “Lil Freak”

25 Mar

Usher officially released his video for “LilĀ  Freak” featuring Nicki Minaj from his album Raymond vs. Raymond in stores now. Cameo from Ciara. I think he should have left out the short dance segment, but what do you think?

New Video: Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)

Yes. Finally. Usher, this is what I love to see. MTV premiered Usher’s new video Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home) directed by Chris Robinson today. The song is hot, the video…even hotter. I love that it’s not the cookie cutter dancing in club you’d typically see from Usher on upbeat songs. Even more, I like how the video tells a story of how he balances his career and personal life. The video is a great snapshot of what we can expect from Raymond vs Raymond slated to drop the end of March.

New Music from Usher – Papers

PAPERS – Usher

Usher releases new music from his highly antipated follow up to the wack not so well received Here I Stand. Anyone who knows me knows I am an Usher fan (from his Call Me A Mack Days). The song is obviously about his break up with Tameka (I was probably the only one rooting for them.) and tells the tale of ish we already knew. Plain and simple –Papers is mediocre. It sounds like typical Usher and even has the remnants of his Confessions album. It’s definitely missing something in my book. I’m hoping this won’t be his official single, the song is okay and will grow on people, but I’m not sure that it will make the impact he was looking.

Usher tried making a statement with Here I Stand. I hope he just makes music on Raymond vs. Raymond.

Usher – Love in this Club Video

8 Apr

After leaking various singles and making a hit with this one, Usher released the video for “Love in This Club” yesterday. I’m a huge Usher fan, but I have to be honest, I wasn’t crazy about the song, not because it wasn’t good, it just wasnt different enough for me. Usher is usually a trendsetter pushing it to the next level, but for me this is nothing different. However, being the fan that I am it grew on me (I still won’t be adding to my i-pod playlist, but I’d bump to it)

The Video is just like “Yeah” to me, but it is a club single so I’ll let him have that. Appearances by Diddy, Kanye West, Robin Thicke and leading lady Keri Hilson (Peep the end when he grabs her hair from behind…so sexy!)
