The blogosphere was buzzing yesterday about Rihanna writing a book titled The Last Girl on Earth. No real details about the book’s content, just a release date of June 26th. You can pre-order a copy on Amazon. I’m sure the book will sell, but I’m not sure I’ll be running to get the first copy. I think she’s had typical island girl upbringing, she’ll probably touch on her past, obviously her relationship with Chris Brown, but other than than I’m not sure she has a substantial story to tell. Maybe she’s doing it for the young girls that look up to her, she received a lot of slack from fans and the media for initially going back to Chris after the incident. Would you buy the book? Or wait ’til your local library gets a copy? (Yes. Libraries still do exist!)

Rihanna released a preview of her new video for the single “Hard” from her Rated R album. The video looks a little dark, similarly to “Russian Roulette” and “Wait Your Turn”. Absolutely love this song, but I’m not sure if I’m feeling where she’s going with the video, but we’ll see.

ABC News aired  a snippet of Diane Sawyer’s interview with Rihanna since her alleged altercation with then boyfriend Chris Brown. She speaks candidly on some of the details — more than Chris gave in his interview with Larry King. Part 1 aired this morning and the rest will air tomorrow morning and then Friday night at 10 p.m. on “20/20.”

Personally I’m glad Rihanna waited so long to speak. The entire situation has died down and she’s really had time to process the whole thing rather than just react to what people are said about her. She seems to be speaking from the heart and with her head now and she’s not afraid to speak what she feels. I hope this will not only be an eye opener to young teens, but also the many Caribbean women who put up with abuse — she speaks to both demographics.

While on the same night the full interview with Rihanna airs with ABC, Chris Brown speaks to MTV’s Sway. Check out the complete interview Friday at 6 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Coincidence…I think not. Both of these young stars have great people surrounding them.

Bottom line: They’re both human, they’re both young, they both made mistakes and both are trying to move on with their careers.

This is the final version of Kanye’s video for “Paranoid” with Rihanna as the leading lady (well the only lady, and a crazy one at that!) Not really a fan of the video, I’m sure it won’t be in heavy rotation and the driving scene reminds me of 1960’s flick Psycho. Nonetheless, here it is for your viewing pleasure.

Rihanna rocked this interesting ensemble at the Met Gala in NYC. From the neck up and the ankles down, she’s looking fierce, but she kind of reminds me of Danny Davito as the penguin in Batman. I guess everyone is allow a fashion faux pas once in a while.

Rihanna premiered her new song “Take a Bow” written by Ne-Yo on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. No official word as to whether she’s working on a new album or if this will be on a re-release of Good Girl Gone Bad, but i’ll keep you posted.

At first listen I was a little turned off by her approach in the beginning, but it mellows out after the first verse. What do you think? Leave your comments.
