My Hair: The Coil Out

9 Jul

I recently (recent as in 2 months ago) cut my hair into a long bob, I knew it would look great straight, but had to admit I wasn’t sure how my curls would look, even though I’ve cut it shorter for “the chop” when officially went natural about 5 years ago. I have to say that I’m totally in love with my shorter hair, curly and straight. I have been rocking the curls most of the summer because the humidity and straight hair don’t mix (even when I had a relaxer it didn’t work so well). However, I do straightening when getting it cut or trimmed especially since I finally found a stylist whom I trust.

“Billionaire” by Travie McCoy

24 Jun

This is one of my favorite songs right now! Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars (also on the hook of BoB’s “Nothing on You“) expresses the thrill and aspirations of being a billionaire. This song covers so many musical genres (reggae, r&b, hip hop etc.) and I love the lyrics, they’re fun an playful…c’mon who doesn’t want to be a billionaire?

Ever wish you had your own personal assistant? Well, Lifebooker isn’t quite that, but it does make your like a little easier by being able to book services like manicures, hair appointment and even kickboxing classes all at a discounted price in the NYC area. In an economy where prices are continuously going up, getting a good discount where you can is essential, especially on services you already pay for — 75% off spa services is not bad.

Web Wenesday: Cool Cruel World

16 Jun

Cool Cruel World is simply put…dope! Cocoa Bella is definitely a taste-maker for urban culture. Like her slogan “for the informed & sophisticated” her blog is more about thinking out of the box rather than exploring traditional idea of urban culture. Unlike cookie cutter urban bloggers, CCW is more about finding out about the under represented talent, events, designers and cool people. Did I mention her photography is amazing.

Check out her Tumblr for more Haute shots.

Drake feat. Shaggy: Find Your Love (Remix)

15 Jun

Coincidentally, on the release date of Drake’s official debut album Thank Me Later comes the remix of “Find Your Love” featuring Shaggy. The rapper/singer shot the video for “Find Your Love”  in Jamaica (co-starring Mavado). Drake is projected move a solid number of units (or downloads) for this album. In the mean time check out Drake ft. Shaggy – Find Your Love Remix. Partial to the original, the remix keeps the baseline and adds a little island spice to the record.
