Web Wednesday: From Blog to Business

25 Aug

Many of us bloggers dream of making big bucks (even chump change would be nice) when it comes to our blog. There are a few sites that have helped me get started like Pro Blogger, but I’m always looking for new tips to build my blog. I came across the From Blog to Business e-book by following Jennifer James Creator of Mom Bloggers Club on twitter.  Co-written by James and Esther Crawford of She Posts, it’s a great guide to getting started and made me think about new strategies for this site and a few others that I’m working on, and it’s FREE! It’s an easy read of 30 minutes at most and it will definitely make you think about your blog as brand, even if you feel like you’re behind. Click here for more details.

Web Wednesday: Congrats Gabi!

11 Aug

Fashion blogger Gabi of Young, Fat & Fabulous won the MTV Twitter Jock contest presented by Zync by American Express. Narrowed down from 20 finalist, the contestants went through a series of twitter-related chanllenges leading up to the live finale where fans voted for their favorite. Gabi garnered an amazing number of responses on her challenges and quite honestly that’s how I came across her site Young, Fat & Fabulous where I began to adore her sense of fashion, showing that being fat doesn’t mean frumpy. Now she the online voice for MTV. Showing us bloggers how you turn your blog into a successful career, very inspirational.

Web Wenesday: Cool Cruel World

16 Jun

Cool Cruel World is simply put…dope! Cocoa Bella is definitely a taste-maker for urban culture. Like her slogan “for the informed & sophisticated” her blog is more about thinking out of the box rather than exploring traditional idea of urban culture. Unlike cookie cutter urban bloggers, CCW is more about finding out about the under represented talent, events, designers and cool people. Did I mention her photography is amazing.

Check out her Tumblr for more Haute shots.
