Bajan R&B/Pop singer Shontelle is back with a sexed up single title “Licky”. Pretty catchy, but I’m not really feelin’ it. It seems like a forced pop song that may get lost on the charts.

Spike Lee directed the video for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” and I was almost brought to tears with all the great footage. It just made fall in love with Michael Jackson all over again.

Etana’s “Free” is an emotionally ballad and the video is just at thought provoking, directed by JayWill.
Amerie’s “More than Love” video was leaked. The video features Fabolous and the video makes me like the song more.

Rihanna released a preview of her new video for the single “Hard” from her Rated R album. The video looks a little dark, similarly to “Russian Roulette” and “Wait Your Turn”. Absolutely love this song, but I’m not sure if I’m feeling where she’s going with the video, but we’ll see.

Nia Long is on the cover of the November issue of Essence Magazine. Finally someone new on the cover! I absolutely adore Nia Long. She’s been doing her rounds of promo for Chris Rock’s Good Hair documentary, which I’m planning to see this weekend. Check her out at the movie premiere.

Jay Will is one of my favorite Caribbean music directors. He always keeps his videos interesting with different plots and themes, not just the typical gal wining session you usually see. His latest is too funny with comic book graphics and “Super Hero” SWAGGER MAN (DWL)! Check out Demarco’s “Love a Come Down”

Chris Rock is hilarious! This documentary will probably state nothing we black folks have not already acknowledged, but it lets everyone else in on black women and we feel about our hair and open up good dialogue about the argument of what “good hair” is.
Healthy hair is good hair, no matter what the texture is. I love my hair because it’s versatile and love seeing my fellow sisters relaxed, natural or weaved up working it regardless of what kind of hair they have.
